An Assessment of the Environmental Information Disclosure of Listed Companies in Zhejiang Province, China

In recent years, due to the urgent need of environmental protection, corporate environmental information disclosure serves as a critical tool to address the severe information asymmetry in China. This paper adopts a quantitative approach to investigate the status quo of information disclosure in Zhejiang Province. Particular attention is given to the correlation between disclosure quality and the firm’s capital market performance. Results indicate that disclosure materials are generally limited and the correlation is not statistically significant
