Abstract

The 2021 Virtual Why Think Tanks Matter Forum was hosted by the Think Tanks and Civil Societies Program (TTCSP) on Friday, January 28, 2021. Think Tank scholars and policymakers gathered to discuss policies that were created and exacerbated by the pandemic as well as those that required foresight beyond the pandemic. 20 Think Tanks from around the world showcased examples of supporting and facilitating government policies during the pandemic when policy makers called on think tanks to perform their indispensable role of assisting policy making in times of crises. Think Tank executives also addressed the question of “Why Think tanks Matter” now and in the future and provided ideas on how the public and government can be served in the best way possible.
