Part One devotes its first chapter to the influence exerted upon the organizers of the evening Hebrew language classes by Eliezer ben Yahuda, David Yellin, Aaron David Gordon and others. The remaining chapters deal with the adult Hebrew language program furing the period from 1915 to 1936. Part Two presents the evidence of the period beginning with the organization of Vaad Leumi's Department of Culture of the Knesset Yisrael in 1936 and ending in May, 1948, when the State of Israel was established. Part Three presents the current program as it has been conducted in the State since 1948, including the various types of ulpanim, the Israeli Army basic language and culture program, the Makhon le-Madrikhe Yisrael, the Histadrut vocational and language schools and the teacher-education seminaries. The Conclusions and Recommendations comprise the last section of the study. Footnotes and references are listed at the end of each part.
